Hey crew, Brode here…

Sitting Native American style on the second floor of a house in a discrete Austin suburb, facing away from SXSW and coincidentally in the direction of Mecca.

Been here for a couple days, here’s a junior recap…

Arrived in Austin on Wednesday morning. Napped until 3. Mopeded into town to pick up pass and credential at the registration center.

All good, the ride in and parking was a piece of cake. The whole process was quick, smooth and breazy.

Time to walk around, soak it in, connect with friends and comedians.

Meet up with the Comedy Store crew, (Mack, Ari, Nick & Justin… Good kids)

Up to this point, I did see Michael Stipe up close at IFC party. Looks like him. Easy jokes, stop :)

As a group we head over to the cool hotel and see Jack White (w/make up) downstairs on the patio. Upstairs is where Doug Stanhope was doing his podcast in a private meeting room.

This was fun, could air somewhere? Doug was playfully grilling Sean “The Comics’ Comic” about his blog and the state of comedy and press in the UK and US. We all had a blast, good times enjoyed by all.

Btw, typing this in on my iPhone and I rarely blog, so I apologize for anything worth apologizing for, in advance.

Nightfall begins to set in, meet up with my old pal Liam who’s premiering his movie “Tell Your Friends” here at SXSW.

We walk, chat and eat. (no, we like chix, thanx!) Time to head back home for the night, which took over an hour due to late night discombobulations.

Day 2

Wake early, need to be at Brooklyn Vegan party which I’m officially hosting between bands.

Get down there, all positive vibes. Hanging out in the Dockers green room, chilling, charging iPhone.

First band goes up, small but pleasant vibe. I intro the next band, singer Alex Winston. 30 minutes later I come back, do about 20 minutes at the party on the patio with mic. We’re all having a decent time, relaxing with chuckles in the afternoon sun.
